The Sarova Mara Tented Lodge

Sarova Mara Tented Lodge has 75 tents, all on the ground floor and is located within the world-renowned Maasai Mara. The luxurious tents all have permanent roofs, zip-up fronts, electricity and ensuite facilities. Relax outside your own tent listening to the orchestra of rasping cicadas and croaking tree frogs. The intermittent call of birds and monkeys is a memorable symphony. The lodge is situated on an elevation astride two streams, with extremely beautiful gardens. The Isokon Restaurant offers a wide range of cuisine and special barbecues are held by the swimming pool beneath the star filled skies. The restaurant has two sections, one internal and one external with a tree canopy. Breakfast and lunch are buffets, whilst dinner is Table D’hotel. Complementing the simplicity of the camp is cozy log fire that is lit in the Oloip bar every night, when the temperature drops. This is where traditional Maasai performers with their rich cultural dances and music entertain guests.

Mara Serena Safari Lodge

Perched on the saddle of a hill, the Mara Serena Safari Lodge has one of the most spectacular views imaginable across the vast plains, forests and rivers that make up the Masai Mara. The hotel has been designed to mirror a traditional Masai village or Manyatta and all the guest rooms are located in individual domed huts grouped in a circular manner. The furnishings of each room have been inspired by traditional Masai art and each one has a private balcony with views that stretch over the vast African landscape. The lodge has a sky-blue swimming pool perched on the edge of the hill, a restaurant that overlooks a waterhole where wildlife gather and several treatment rooms where you can enjoy a range of relaxing massages. From the lodge you can organise a safari by balloon – a truly breathtaking experience. Other activities on offer include bush barbecues, game drives, evening cocktail parties at the waterhole, watching the hippos and Masai dancing.

Mara Sopa Lodge

Set in the Oloolaimutia valley the lodge blends in perfectly with its surrounding hillside landscape. The accent here is on the Masai people and the fabulous wealth of wildlife, birdlife, and natural flora to be found in the Reserve. The lodge has 77 rooms and 13 suites, all of which are 'rondavel' style and have en-suite bathroom facilities which provide shaving sockets and hairdryers. Every room and suite has a private, elevated verandah with splendid views across the valley and on which guests can relax, sunbathe and watch resident birds and wildlife. There is a freeform, fresh-water pool which offers spectacular views over the valley. Balloon safaris, visits to Masai manyattas and walking safaris can be arranged. Over and above this they can provide and cater for any size of birthday or anniversary party, bush breakfasts, lunches or barbecues, sundowner cocktail parties, gala dinners or theme evening.

Olonana

Olonana is situated on the banks of the Mara River, in the heart of Kenya's Big Game country. In addition to big game viewing in the Masai Mara Reserve, visitors are offered a rare glimpse of the day-to-day lives of the Maasai people in the adjacent Maasai village or 'engang'. No other lodge in the Mara offers such a close cultural experience with the Maasai. Olonana features 12 spacious permanent tents, each tastefully appointed with two comfortable queen-size beds, ensuite bathrooms with showers, and large, riverview verandahs. The chefs will delight you with exquisite cuisine, which can be served al fresco perched on the Siria escarpment overlooking the Mara plains or as a picnic deep in the bush. Or you can sink into the comfortable sitting area with some books from the camp's library, and then enjoy a delicious dinner in the dining room overlooking our private section of the Mara River.

Elephant Pepper Camp

Situated right on the Northern Edge of the Maasai Mara reserve this 8-tented bush camp, is tucked away in a prime wildlife area. Surrounded by the Mara’s ubiquitous game, it’s a seasonal camp, which is taken down for a month or so in the rainy seasons. Walking with qualified guides and unwinding around the glowing embers of a campfire all add to the authenticity of a true bush experience. Creative comforts are not sacrificed either with ensuite bathrooms being part of each spacious tent. The camp nestles in the shade of a natural forest overlooking the Mara plains. It has 8 large light canvas tents with en-suite dressing rooms, safari showers filled with hot water on request and flush toilets. The main dining/bar mess tent offers family style dining with a help-yourself bar. The appetising food is prepared by chefs trained by the owners’ family using traditional North Italian recipes mixed with international and local favourites. A barbecue by the campfire, dinner in the mess tent, or a bush breakfast on the open plains are some of the lasting memories to take home.

Rekero Tented Camp

Rekero is the home of the Beaton family. We, together with our Masai guides host our guests giving them an insight into wildlife viewing and culture unparalleled elsewhere in the Mara. Guests have an exclusive guide and vehicle for the duration of their stay. Rekero Tented Camp is situated at what is recognised as the prime site within the Masai Mara game reserve, close to the confluence of the Mara and Talek River, ten minutes from the main Wildebeest crossings during the migration. The camp overlooks large pools populated with hippo and crocodile, and offers some of the finest big cat viewing in Africa.

The camp has eight tents, each with a canopied verandah and carefully arranged to ensure privacy. Each tent is luxuriously furnished with safari antiques from the 1920’s, private ensuite dressing rooms/bathrooms, showers and flush toilets. The camp is equipped with a tented library/reading room and the cuisine and silver service is of the highest standard to be found in the bush. Each tent has its own private butler.

Kichwa Tembo

Kichwa Tembo is situated at the foot of the Oloololo Escarpment on the western border of the Masai Mara Reserve in southwestern Kenya. In addition to an excellent year-round concentration of animals, Kichwa Tembo lies directly in the path of Africa’s spectacular Great Migration of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti, Tanzania, to the Masai Mara in Kenya.

Bateleur Camp at Kichwa Tembo: This exclusive safari camp is the epitome of private tented luxury and comprises just nine tented suites, nestled in a lush riverine forest. Situated below the location where Out of Africa’s famous final scene was filmed, this romantic and totally private camp reflects the ambience of Kenyan safaris of the 20s and 30s. The tented suites epitomise classic elegance with polished wooden floors and en suite bathrooms with glass-walled showers, twin hand-basins and a separate flush w.c. Each tent has a private deck overlooking the vast game-filled plains of the Masai Mara.

Kichwa Tembo Tented Safari Camp has 40 spacious Hemingway-style safari tents with en suite bathrooms and private verandas that afford spectacular views over the magnificent grasslands or Sabaringo River. The main thatched guest areas include a welcoming bar/sitting area, indoor and outdoor dining areas and a well-stocked gift shop featuring African art, artefacts and safari-wear.
